Collector P. Lakshmi Narasimham and Nuclear Power Corporation of India Private Limited (NPCIL) Kovvada Project Director G.V. Ramesh and other top officials on Monday promised the villagers and farmers of Ranasthalam mandal that the government would ensure the best package under the new Land Acquisition Act-2014 for the people, who would part with their land for the construction of nuclear project.

For the first time, the officials could organise a public interaction meeting at K. Matyalesam village in Ranasthalam mandal, which is likely to be affected by the project, to clear the doubts of the residents on the relief and rehabilitation package.

Mr. Lakhsmi Narasimham said that the district administration was trying to ensure better compensation to the residents. He also said that the project would ensure category-4 jobs for the locals and help them to get contracts during the construction period.

Residents will be compensated according to the provisions of new Land Acquisition Act, say officials
