A.P. Kapu Corporation Managing Director Amarendra Kumar has been removed from the post following corruption charges against him.

Following allegations of misappropriation of funds in the implementation of schemes, a probe was ordered against him and, based on a report submitted by the probe officer, Mr. Amarendra Kumar was removed. He has been sent back to the Animal Husbandry Department, where he worked as Joint Director before being appointed as MD of the Kapu Corporation three years ago.

Commissioner of BC Welfare Department B. Udaya Lakshmi has taken additional charge as the Kapu Corporation MD. The Kapu Corporation office in Vijayawada witnessed high drama in the aftermath of the dismissal. Mr. Kumar called for a press conference to clarify his stand, but was interrupted by corporation chairman Ch. Ramanujaya, who said that he would not be allowed to address the media in the office as he had already been relieved.

Mr. Kumar was forced to address the media on the road outside the Kapu Corporation office.
