The alleged suicide of a junior assistant working in the Department of Medical and Health created flutter here after the person posted a video on Facebook.

N. Ravi Kumar, a junior assistant working at Ponnur Primary Health Centre, reportedly consumed poison and later died while being treated at GGH, Guntur.

His wife and three daughters alleged that Ravi Kumar had been harassed by his seniors and denied promotion.

In the video posted on Facebook, Ravi Kumar named assistant director Ratna Raju, administrative officer Mallikarjuna Rao, and other staff members at DMHO office, IVD Prasad, and said that they had humiliated him.

He said that they had demanded a bribe of ₹1 lakh, but even after he had paid ₹70,000, the administrative staff denied him promotion.

Upset over their attitude, Ravi Kumar stopped going to the office and was reportedly in a state of depression. He allegedly consumed poison on November 19 and was admitted to GGH.
