JC Diwakar blames Centre for lack of development

February 12, 2015 05:36 pm | Updated May 24, 2016 03:21 pm IST - ANANTAPUR:

The Union Government came under fire from Anantapur TDP M.P. J.C. Diwakar Reddy when he accused the Union Government of not listening to or considering any of the suggestions given to it for the development of the State during Parliament sessions.

He told people of his constituency through the mediapersons here on Thursday, "I am sorry that I have not been able to do anything about the continued drought situation in the district. The Union Government is not considering any of our (MP's) requests. The decision and the opinion of the Prime Minister alone seems to matter", quipped Mr. Reddy.

"The Prime Minister and the Chief Minister are the only important persons and offices in this country. Whatever the Prime Minister decides is the rule and what the Chief Minister says is an 'order'. Rather than electing us, people should have been allowed to elect only the Chief Ministers and the Prime Minister directly", said Mr. Reddy indicating that the MPs and legislators were powerless in the current setup.
