The Praja Sankalpa Yatra undertaken by YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy entered Anantapur district on Monday. Speaking at a public meeting at Gooty as a part of the yatra, Mr. Reddy strongly criticised the TDP rule. “People from various walks of life in Guntakal constituency met me and told that their salaries have been pending for several months now. The model school teachers at Gooty told me that they did not get their salaries for the last the months. How does the government expect them to teach the students and ensure that the school remains a model one with high pass percentage?” questioned Mr. Reddy.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Reddy entered the district through Basinepalli. Mr. Reddy alleged that corruption was rampant all over the State and the days of the Telugu Desam government were numbered. “Recently, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu called upon his cadre to be prepared themselves for elections. You need to question yourself whether you want a liar and a cheat as your leader,” said Mr. Reddy. Earlier in the day, when women narrated about drinking water woes, he said that the YSRCP, if elected, would not only ensure drinking water but also provide housing to the poor.
