YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy will contest for the State Legislative Assembly from Pulivendula Assembly constituency in Kadapa district, in which his mother Y.S. Vijayamma is a sitting MLA.
Stating this in a press conference in YSRC office here on Sunday night, the party’s State Disciplinary Committee president and former MLA S. Raghurami Reddy said Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy’s mother Y.S. Vijayamma and his sister Sharmila would not contest the elections, but they were free to contest from any constituency if they desired.
Mr. Reddy announced the party candidates finalised for two Parliamentary constituencies and 10 Assembly constituencies in Kadapa district. Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy’s cousin (paternal uncle’s son) Y.S. Avinash Reddy would contest from Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency and Peddireddy Mithun Reddy, son of Punganur MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy would contest from Rajampet Lok Sabha constituency.
Three sitting YSRC MLAs - Akepati Amarnath Reddy of Rajampet, Koramutla Srinivasulu of Railway Kodur (SC) and Gadikota Srikant Reddy of Rayachoti – were fielded again. Congress MLA of Jammalamadugu C. Adinarayana Reddy, who switched his loyalty to YSRC was given ticket from Jammalamadugu. Mr. Raghurami Reddy would contest from Mydukur Assembly segment.
Jagan’s maternal uncle and former Kadapa Mayor P. Raveendranatha Reddy would contest from Kamalapuram Assembly constituency.
The party’s fresh candidates were: Kadapa – S.B. Amjad Basha, Proddatur – former municipal chairman Rachamallu Prasad Reddy and Badvel (SC) – Jayaram.
Ananta joins YSRCPSitting Congress MP from Anantapur, Anantha Venkatarami Reddy, joined the YSR Congress Party along with his supporters here on Sunday. They were welcomed into YSRCP by its president Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.
