TDP national president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s assertion that tabling the no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government at the Centre is the “last weapon” shows the ambiguity in the party on the issue, according to Congress leader and former MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar.

Addressing the media here on Tuesday, Mr. Arun Kumar said all the parties would extend their support to the TDP if it moved the motion after two of its Ministers in the Union Cabinet resigned.

Wondering whether there was any “weapon” left for Mr. Naidu to force the Centre to fall in line, he questioned, “If you have any weapon left, why not use it now itself?”

He welcomed YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s readiness to table the motion following the call given by Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan. If the motion was tabled, the nation would come to know of the injustice done, he said. It would also bring the truth on the implementation of the promises made in the A.P. Reorganisation Act, he said.

He appealed Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy to allow his MLAs to attend the budget session of the State Assembly to get clarification from the government and its ally, the BJP, on the charges and counter-charges on the Special Category Status (SCS) and budgetary allocations.
