A pall of gloom descended on Karadimadugu village of Palamaner constituency in the district, with the death of an intermediate student and another student going missing, when a group of nine students went for a swim in the village tank on Sunday afternoon. According to the Palamaner police, the victim was identified as Riyaz (17). His body was fished out after an hour-long search.
The group realised another friend was missing and alerted police who rushed to the spot and launched a search operation to trace the missing boy. A case was registered.
