August 17, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:29 am IST - BHEEMAVARAM:

The Union government has sanctioned an incubation centre for the SRKR Engineering College as a part of the ‘Make in India’ programme.

This was announced by Principal G. Parthasarathi Varma during the distribution of prizes to students on Tuesday for participation in the Independence Day celebrations. Sagi Prasad Raju, president and Gokaraju Muralirangaraju, chairman of the college, distributed the prizes to the students.

Mr. Varma said that the incubation centre would give an opportunity to a student to a project directly to the Union Human Resources Development (HRD) Ministry which would sanction money after looking into the merits of the project. Once the grant is given, the project designer can market it with the support of Central schemes also.

Mr. Varma said that the incubation centre was only the second such facility in the region after Visakhapatnam.

Vice-president P. Krishnamraju, CEO Sagi Ramakrishna Nishanth Varma and others were present.
