IIT-JEE passes off peacefully in Tirupati

The Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) passed off peacefully in the city on Sunday.

The test was conducted in as many as 28 centres in the morning, while it was held in four centres for paper II, meant for the B.Arch aspirants. 796 of the 14,547 enrolled candidates abstained from attending the morning session, while 230 of the 2,515 aspirants did not take the test in the afternoon. “The attendance came to 95 p.c. and 92 p.c. respectively for the sessions,” said Rohit Panda, principal of Sree Vidyanikethan International School and the city coordinator for the test.

CBSE officials from Delhi stayed in the city for three days and supervised the arrangements at the various centres.
