‘Staff shifted them to dormitories after classes are over’

April 21, 2018 11:06 pm | Updated 11:06 pm IST - NUZVID (KRISHNA DT.)

Leaders of the YSR Congress Party alleged that the IIIT management has detained students on the campus to prevent them from interacting with Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“The institute staff instructed the students not to leave the campus and shifted them to the dormitories after the classes are over,” the party leaders alleged.

Padayatra

Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy, whose padayatra entered 141th day completing 1,830 km on Saturday, visited Kotha Eedara, Seetarampuram and Yenamadala villages and reached Nuzvid.

Some Class IV staff working in IIIT poured out their woes to Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Representation

They submitted a representation to him alleging that minimum wages were not being paid and no steps were being taken to regularise them even after 10 years of service.

Mango farmers, who met Mr. Jagan, said that crop was withering away due to poor water supply in the region.
