: The woes of the people in Andhra Pradesh due to simmering heat conditions are likely to continue for the next few days with the India Meteorological Department warning that heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at several places in all the coastal districts over the next three days.
The IMD had forecast that severe heat wave conditions would prevail in 28 mandals and heat wave conditions in 100 others, while normal conditions are likely to prevail in the rest of the State. Model simulation for the Thursday indicated that severe heat wave conditions were likely to prevail in 50 conditions and moderate conditions in 400 more.
Light to moderate rain or thunder showers are likely to occur in isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and several places are likely to record temperatures between 40 and 45 degree Celsius. Vijayawada, Machilipatnam and Nellore continued to bear the brunt recording maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius closely followed by Ongole and Kakinada with 43 degree Celsius. Tirupati recorded 42 degree Celsius and Anantapur and Kurnool (41 degree Celsius each). The temperature was, however, moderate in the north coastal Andhra where Visakhapatnam recorded 35 degree Celsius and Kalingapatnam 36 degree Celsius.
