Head constable dies in accident

D. Devanandam, 44, head constable in Jupadu Bungalow Police Station in Kurnool district, died when his motorcycle accidentally fell into a large pit dug for constructing a bridge, while he was going to Orvakallu after duty.

The head constable of the 1993 batch, sustained severe injuries on Saturday night and succumbed to injuries in Kurnool general hospital on Sunday morning, according to Jupadu Bungalow Circle Inspector Nagaraju Yadav.

A native of N. Kothalapadu in Orvakallu mandal, Devanandam is survived by wife Salomi, two daughters and a son.

Kurnool SP A. Ravikrishna paid tributes to the deceased head constable and handed over Rs. 15,000 to his wife towards funeral expenses.
