Harish Rao serves legal notice on Pawan Kalyan

Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leader T. Harish Rao has sent a legal notice to actor and founder of Jana Sena Party Pawan Kalyan, seeking an unconditional apology from the latter for making false statements against him to defame him in public.

In the notice sent on behalf of Mr. Harish Rao, his legal counsel T. Sriranga Rao said on Tuesday that the actor must tender unconditional apology through print and electronic media within two days from the date of receipt of notice. He said his client would be constrained to proceed legally against Mr. Kalyan by initiating criminal and civil proceedings as per law if he fails to do so.

Mr. Sriranga Rao said that his client was highly qualified person and had joined in the mass movement for the cause statehood to Telangana headed by TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Further, he is held in high regard and commands good reputation among people of the region, particularly in his constituency.

Speaking at a public meeting in Thorroor in Warangal on April 26, Mr. Kalyan had alleged that Mr. Harish Rao had business deals with Botcha Satyanarayana.

Mr. Sriranga Rao said the sole objective of the statement was to defame Mr. Harish Rao and cause loss to him in the ongoing elections.
