Govindaraja Swamy Brahmotsavam begins

The nine-day annual brahmotsavam of Sri Govindaraja Swamy temple began on a grand note with the auspicious ‘Dwajarohanam’, in the early hours of Saturday. The ceremonious event signalling the commencement of the religious fete, took place in Mesha Lagnam between 5 am and 5.30 am. The sacred yellow cloth, with the imprint of Lord Garuda, the celestial carrier of Lord Maha Vishnu, was hoisted atop the golden flag post ‘Dwajastambham’ situated inside the temple complex amidst the traditional recitation of Vedic hymns by temple priests. Before that, the deities taken out on a ceremonious procession around the four mada streets in Golden Tiruchi. Sri Pedda Jeeyar Swamy, Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, TTD Executive Officer D. Sambasiva Rao, Tirupati JEO Pola Bhaskar, temple Deputy EO Varalakshmi, and AEO Prasad Rajutook part.
