A sudden leakage from a gas pipeline near the ONGC’s drilling site at Antarvedi in East Godavari district created panic among the public in the early hours of Saturday.
The incident took place when the technicians of the ONGC were undertaking the regular checking of pipelines in the morning. Gas started leaking from the pipeline passing through the farm fields behind St. Mary’s School and people got alerted by the noise.
The technicians of the ONGC swung into action and arrested the leakage of gas from the pipeline. The situation was under control and the repair works were going on.
