Galla Aruna to raise Rs. 1 cr. for Hudhud relief

Former Minister and TDP Chandragiri constituency in-charge Galla Arunakumari on Sunday launched a programme to mobilise relief for Hudhud cyclone-hit victims.

She also set for herself an ambitious target of mobilising Rs. 1 crore during the four-day campaign in two phases.

Her son and Guntur MP Jayadev Galla has already contributed Rs. 1 crore to the relief work.

Ms. Arunakumari accepted the first offering from shopkeepers at Sri Padmavathi Ammavari temple in Tiruchanur.

She also launched a similar campaign at the Pakala market yard. The campaign has yielded Rs. 2.24 lakh from Tirupati Rural mandal and Rs. 12 lakh from Pakala mandal in the initial hours.

She will visit Yerravaripalem and Chinnagottigallu mandals on Monday.
