Andhra Pradesh Group of Ministers has recommended regularisation of about 900 acres of government land in Gajuwaka of Visakhapatnam district which is already in the possession of individuals.

House sites below 100 sq.yards for residential purposes will be regularised free of cost. The GoM has left the decision on rates for regularisation of the remaining land to the State Cabinet.

The committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishnamurthy, which met at the Secretariat here on Monday to discuss the issue and house sites in Arilova, submitted its recommendations based on the earlier recommendations of the House Committee.

The committee however deferred the decision on the land at Arilova in Visakhapatnam.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Revenue Special Chief Secretary Ajay Kallam, Chief Commissioner of Land Administration Anil Punetha, Visakhapatnam Joint Collector Niwas and other revenue officials.

The decision on regularisation would be confined to the government land under the possession of individuals as on January 1, 2014 and in accordance with the GOs 44 and 296, it said.
