: Four persons were killed in a road accident that took place at Ganapavaram crossroads on National Highway 5 in the early hours of Friday. Three others, including a woman, who was injured in the accident, were battling for their lives at the Government General Hospital here. The passengers were travelling to Chennai from West Bengal.

The accident took place when the Multi Purpose Vehicle in which they were travelling rammed into a container parked on the highway.
