Former naxals’ role suspected in blast on court premises

Superintendent of Police Ghattamaneni Srinivas on Saturday said that going by the nature of the bomb blast on the premises of court complex in Chittoor on Thursday, the hand of former naxals and experts in explosive-making was not ruled out.

Speaking to the media here, the SP said that four special teams were on the job of tracking the culprits. “The teams are placed in Bengaluru, Chennai, and some vital places all over AP and Telangana. We are also probing whether the accused in the double murder of mayor couple in Chittoor have links with former naxals,” the official said, adding that breakthrough would be a certainty soon. The SP said that the material used was under scrutiny and subjected to serious investigation.
