Five held, fake notes seized

The Peddapuram police on Tuesday arrested five persons on the charge of printing and circulating counterfeit currency notes and recovered from them fake notes of ₹13.5 lakh and the machinery used for it. The accused were N. Anjaneyulu of Akiveedu in West Godavari, K. Satyanarayana Reddy of Dwarapudi, E. Sunil of Tilak Street in Rajamahendravaram, and P. Ramesh of Lalacheruvu in Rajamahendravaram.

On a tip off, the police arrested K. Veera Nageswara Rao near Samalkot Railway Station while he was allegedly circulating the counterfeit notes. Basing on information he provided, they raided a house in Anaparthy and nabbed the accused.

The police found that the accused took the house on rent and were using it for printing the notes. A case was registered.
