Prakasam District Fire Officer C. Peddy Reddy led fire fighters in giving a demonstration on various fire-fighting techniques.

The hose drill, which brought out the expertise of the staff in reaching the fire spot quickly and putting it out, floored one and all.

The was designed to provide newcomers with some basic knowledge of fire-fighting techniques and the veterans an opportunity to upgrade themselves on the various new techniques, explained the DFO ahead of the Fire Service Week (FSW) observance in memory of those who perished in the devastating fire at the Victoria Dock in the Bombay Port on April 14, 1944. “We will hold demonstration in public places and in apartments during the Safety week for different sections of people to observe safety procedures always,” he said.
