‘Financial woes will not hinder building of capital’

Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishna Murthy has called upon people and government employees to work for reconstruction of the new State. Addressing a gathering during Ugadi celebrations at Sunyana Auditorium here on Saturday, he said the government would work with dedication to live up to the aspirations of public.

He said the construction State capital would not be hampered by the financial constraints of the State. He said the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh might have caused split of Telugu-speaking people.

Collector Ch. Vijayamohan said that all efforts were being made to develop Kurnool as the financial capital and industrial capital of the State, adding that there was every possibility to development an industrial hub in and around Kurnool.

SP A. Ravikrishna, Joint Collector Harikiran, Zilla Parishad Chairman M. Rajasekar, MLA Mani Gandhi and other officials attended the function.

Vedic Scholar Nossam Narasimhachari explained the significance of Ugadi, while persons who excelled in various fields and rendered service to the society were felicitated.

Eleven writers including Senior Journalist Madhurabharatula Subramanyam Sarma were also felicitated.

The programme concluded with cultural programmes. Srikakulam Staff Reporter adds: Participating in the celebrations, MP Kinjarapu Rammohan, Whip Kuna Ravikumar, Collector P. Lakshmi Narasimham and others participated in the event.

They hoped that the ‘Manmadhanama Samvatsaram’ would bring fortunes to the district. Various cultural programmes were also performed. Bharatiya Janata Party's Srikakulam town wing organised Panchanga Sravanam on the office premises.

Vizianagaram Correspondent adds: Rural Development Minister Kimidi Mrunalini appealed people to support Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu in building the capital. She was participating in the celebrations at Ananda Gajapathi Auditorium on Saturday.
