Fervour marks ‘Sirimanotsavam’

Hundreds of devotees witnessed Sirimanotsvam held in a traditional manner in Srikakulam on Tuesday as part of festival of local deities such as Mutyalamma, Durgamma, Nukalamma, Peddammatalli and others. The festival is celebrated once in 12 years, according to locals.

Roads between Old Bus Stand and the Collectorate Complex areas were jam-packed with the devotees of various places. A colourful lighting was organised for almost 2-km distance.

The local leaders have given top priority for the festival which depicted culture of Srikakulam district. Despite scorching summer, many people participated in the festival throughout the day.
