Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah has termed the practice of untouchability as a sign of the nation’s weakness and feared that it could stifle balanced growth and development. Speaking at a programme organised by Transform India Foundation and All India Brahmin Federation in Tirupati on Sunday, he recalled the brutal practice of untouchability during his childhood, which he admitted had come down in the contemporary times. The practice should be totally eradicated on a war-footing, Mr Rosaiah said.
