Congress party leaders took out a rally from Ambedkar Statue on Trunk Road to the Collectorate here on Monday demanding that the government take steps to ensure sanction of crop loans to farmers by bankers for the current season.
The rally was organized in support of various other demands which include remunerative prices to the crop produce.
Later, the Congress delegation led by DCC president Panabaka Krishnaiah submitted a memorandum to Joint Collector A.Md. Imtiyaz here, giving him details of the issues confronting the farmers. Mr. Krishnaiah said that the BJP and the TDP governments had failed to fulfil the promises made to the people.
