The Congress will respect the opinion of employees on the issue of division of employees between Telangana and residual Andhra Pradesh and the party does not have any other option, said the Telangana PCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday night, Mr. Lakshmaiah said that the employees would be allocated their regions based on “nativity” and “options” as they were enshrined in the T-Bill. Accusing the TRS chief K. Chandrashekhar Rao of making a noise on the issue only to gain political mileage after keeping silent when the Bill was passed in Parliament, he questioned him as to why he didn’t make proposals for changes then.
Governance main plankMaking it clear that if his party comes to power it would not do injustice to Telangana employees, he said that his party was not talking about options keeping an eye on settlers’ votes as alleged by the TRS. “Good governance, stability, social justice and self respect are the main electoral planks of my party,” he added.
Reiterating that the Congress would come to power in Telangana, he said that his party’s government would turn Telangana into a ‘piece of gold’ by addressing all existing problems in the new State.
Disclosing that AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi would address a huge public meeting at Dichpally in Nizamabad (rural) Assembly constituency on April 21 morning, he appealed to all the party cadres to make concerted efforts to make the meeting a big success. Former PCC president D. Srinivas and DCC president Taher Bin Hamdan were present.
