Living up to his reputation as a tech-savvy politician, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu continued his emphasis on leveraging technology for better yields to farmers. He unveiled the government’s attempts to provide a level playing field to farmers facilitating e-commerce for selling their produce at remunerative prices.

Quoting e-commerce platforms like amazon.com, Mr. Naidu said the government was working out the modalities to launch similar online initiatives so that farmer could display his produce in the global markets.

“A time will come when information about the soil health, suitable crops and other issues would be relayed to farmers on their mobiles,” he said.
