Several tribal girl students from various professional courses like MBA and diploma courses such as D.Ed have entered the local body electoral fray from various ZPTCs and MPTCs in the district.
With a substantial number of ZPTCs and MPTCs being reserved for women, the political parties have roped in women candidates from different walks of life including those pursuing their higher education, to bag maximum number of seats in the ensuing local body polls.
Some Intermediate and degree qualified tribal women have already filed their nominations from Gundala, Palvancha, and various other territorial constituencies in the last two days. A few of them entered the fray as independent candidates to test their electoral fortunes.
Sources said that G. Lakshmi, possessing degree and B.Ed qualifications, joined the fray from the Gundala ZPTC reserved for women (general). She filed her nomination papers on behalf of the CPI (ML-New Democracy).
A Dhana Lakshmi, a B.Sc. graduate with B.Ed. qualification, entered local body poll fray from Palvancha MPTC seat. She is reportedly pursuing her post graduation in Osmania University.
Madakam Sharada, a MBA final year student of a Palvancha based private college, filed her nomination for the Chintur ZPTC post on Thursday. A native of Lakkavaram village in Chintur mandal, Sharada arrived at the ZP office along with a host of CPI (M) mandal leaders to submit her nomination.
Pallapu Lakshmi, a student of D.Ed course, also joined the local body poll fray from Chintur from where she hails.
Meanwhile, the ZP office witnessed hectic activity with the aspirants of the ZPTC posts flocking to the venue on the final day of filing of nominations.
Sources said that more than 150 nominations were filed on the last day. The nominations for MPTC posts continued to pour in till evening.
