ED attaches Ramky’s properties worth Rs. 216 cr.

Enforcement Directorate officials on Friday attached properties worth Rs. 216 crore belonging to M/s Ramky Pharma City India Limited (RPCIL) in case of money laundering related to YSR Congress Legislature Party leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

Earlier, the CBI had filed charge-sheet against the company for getting undue benefit of 914 acres of land in Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City (JNPC), Visakhapatnam, by reducing green belt area from 250 metres to 50 metres. Based on this, the ED authorities registered a case against the company and others under Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

Having gained the 914 acres, the RPCIL had invested Rs. 10 crore as share capital in M/s Jagati publications private limited. Out of the 914 acres of land, the company converted 627 acres into industrial plots. The remaining land was sold or leased out to different pharmaceutical companies. Already, the ED officials attached properties worth Rs. 134 crore of the company and Rs. 10 crore belonging to Jagati Publications.

The investigators identified properties worth Rs. 101 crore equivalent to unduly gained properties were already sold. Sixteen plots spread over 159 acres worth Rs. 115 crore, which were being sold, were also identified as proceeds of the crime.

Details of the properties attaching d are as follows: 16 plots admeasuring 159.66 acres in JNPC (Rs. 115 crore), plot nos. 56 and 45 admeasuring 18.95 acres (Rs. 22.78 crore), balance amount in plot no. 83 in non-SEZ area of 34.43 acres (Rs. 7.61crore), 73.64 acres of land in Thanam village (Rs. 35.64 crore), 37.79 acres in Lemarthi village (Rs. 18.09 crore), 23.39 acres in Thadi village (Rs. 12.45 crore) and 11.62 acres in E. Bonangi village (Rs. 8.44 crore).
