Earth Day celebrations at RSCT today

Regional Science Centre Tirupati (RSCT) in collaboration with the Regional Centres of A.P. Akademi of Sciences (APAS) and the A.P. Pollution Control Board (APPCB), will conduct Earth Day celebrations on Tuesday, at RSCT premises.

The programme would begin with an Earth Day rally at 8.30 a.m. from the APPCB to Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam (SPMVV) via Ramachandra Pushkarni and Balaji Colony. Later, competitions based on the theme will be conducted for children at the venue.

NGRI's Senior Principal Scientist N. Purnachandra Rao will deliver a lecture on ‘Earthquakes and Tsunamis – What have we learnt’ at 11 a.m. Former Vice-Chancellor of SPMVV G. Sarojamma, APPCB Environmental Engineer A. Narendra Babu, RSCT's LAC Members S. Vijaya Bhaskara Rao (Professor of Physics at S.V. University) and P.V. Ranganayakulu (Professor at S.V. Ayurvedic College) will also take part in the day-long event.
