Leaders of CPI(M) and Kula Vivaksha Porata Samiti (KVPS) on Thursday asked the State government to do justice to all the victims of Lakshmipet where five dalits were brutally murdered in June, 2012.

Representatives of KVPS, including its State president Andra Malyadri, KVPS district president D. Ganesh, CPI(M) district secretary Bhaviri Krishnamurthy and others staged a protest here deploring delay in providing jobs and livelihood to the victims’ families.

They lamented that hundreds of dalits were put to hardship following social boycott in the village of Vangara mandal. They asked the government to provide jobs to the eligible dalits and punish the accused persons. They had an argument with the police personnel when the latter tried to stop them to reach the Labour Minister’s office. They thanked the people for extending their support to the relay hunger strike conducted from June 22 to June 30 at the Day and Night Junction.
