EAMCET convener N.V. Ramana Rao said that the bifurcation of the State would not have any impact on the admission process.

He said that the respective governments would take appropriate decision for the admissions for the year 2015-16.

Addressing a media conference here, he said that EAMCET authorities were keen to curb malpractices with regard to admissions in medical colleges. “Some students genuinely write EAMCET again if they are not satisfied with the admissions in a particular college. So, we cannot stop them. However, strict vigilance will continue on other candidates.”

According to him, as many as 3, 82, 707 candidates are appearing for engineering and 1.12 lakh for medicine. Authorities are anticipating drop in engineering admissions this year as many students opted for other courses.
