The State government has announced that farmers whose applications have been rejected under the debt relief scheme can submit their grievances at the respective District Collectorates instead of coming to Hyderabad.

After it was announced that farmers whose grievances were not addressed at the bank level could come to Hyderabad, several of them had started coming to the Secretariat. Thus a decision was taken to collect the pleas at the District Collectorates between April 27 and May 15, Agriculture Minister P. Pulla Rao said on Thursday.

The complaints from districts would be couriered daily to the Secretariat where 40 persons had been entrusted with verification of lapses, process the pleas and upload them online. So far, 80,000 complaints had been received from farmers and they would get SMSes after their pleas were processed, said the Minister.

Addressing the media, along with Deputy Chairman (Planning) C. Kutumbarao, Mr.Pulla Rao said that the first instalment under the debt redemption scheme had been credited into the accounts of 53 lakh farmers . The details of beneficiaries and amount credited would also be displayed at the respective mandal and panchayat offices.

Of the 21,154 eligible beneficiaries of the debt redemption scheme in the 29 villages under the Capital Region Development Authority (CRSDA), one time settlement amount had been credited to the accounts of 13,000 so far and the rest would get the benefits soon, he informed.

Admitting that mistakes were committed during the data entry by the banks, the Minister said that some applicants did not furnish Aadhaar, ration card and land details in the case of gold loans. Some cases were noticed where agriculture crops were shown as horticulture crops.

Some banks also committed errors in scale of finance and all these were being corrected in accordance with government norms.

Mr. Kutumbarao said that applications of farmers who had taken multiple loans including gold loans, but did not submit supporting land documents, had been rejected, adding that ryots from Andhra Pradesh with Hyderabad Aadhaar number whose applications were rejected could submit their voter cards.

Stern action would be initiated against the irregularities, he said.
