Training his guns on the Congress, CPI State secretary K. Narayana said that the ruling party would be routed in the next general elections, irrespective of the stand it takes on the issue of separate Telangana.

Mr. Narayana kicked off his ten-day bus yatra of ten districts of Telangana christened ‘Praja Poru Yatra’ here on Saturday.

Addressing a public meeting here, Mr. Narayana said the Congress was sitting on the issue, unmindful of the sacrifices made by hundreds of youths and the 43-day ‘Sakala Janula Samme’ by government employees and other sections for a separate Telangana State. Hailing the ‘Praja Poru Yatra’ initiated by Mr. Narayana, Telangana JAC chairman Kodandaram said the yatra would give a major thrust to the statehood movement. CPI senior leader Puvvada Nageswara Rao, party floor leader in the Assembly G. Mallesh, MLAs K. Sambasiva Rao and B. Chandravati, Telangana Employees JAC leaders V. Srinivas Goud and C. Vittal, and TPJAC district chairman Kanaka Chary were present.
