Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday asserted that it is the responsibility of the ruling Congress to find an immediate solution to the ongoing crisis in Andhra Pradesh over the proposed bifurcation of the state.
“This (division of state) is a very sensitive issue. The Congress has complicated it. Hence, it is for the Congress to resolve the crisis,” Mr. Naidu told reporters here.
Referring to the ongoing agitations for and against the division of the state, Mr. Naidu maintained that the TDP leaders were strictly going by the wishes of the people of the respective regions.
Expressing serious anguish over the spate of violent incidents in Telangana, the state Leader of Opposition wondered if a government existed in the state.
He lamented that he could not visit any church on the occasion of Christmas because of the prevailing strife.
“Every year I used to visit a church and offer prayers on Christmas. This year, I could not do so because of the current situation,” he regretted and wished the festival would bring peace and prosperity to all people.
