Civil Services (Main) results may be delayed

March 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:45 am IST - HYDERABAD:

The results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination are likely to be further delayed with the Supreme Court questioning reservation for the Jat community.

Expected to be released in the second week of March, the results will now have to be reworked leaving out Jat candidates that benefited from the quota system.

The results will also depend on the Union government’s decision to go for an appeal on the Supreme Court’s decision.

The preliminary exam was held in August 2014 and Jat students were included in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) section to claim reservations.

More than 1,000 students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh had appeared for the Main examination in December and are awaiting results to appear for the interview.
