The Chittoor police will be launching a month-long special drive from July 1 to tackle the issues of road safety, women safety, sex trade and gambling in the district.
Superintendent of Police S.V. Rajasekhar Babu said that the special drive will involve the entire police force from constable to deputy SP cadre.
The police teams in coordination with the road transport authorities will conduct inspection of school and college buses, and initiate steps to seize the unconditioned vehicles in the interest of students.
The operators and managements of educational institutions should compulsorily produce the relevant documents.
Vigil on eve-teasing
Surveillance would be in place at all educational institutions and public places vulnerable to the movement of miscreants indulging in eve-teasing. The official said that the women facing any threat or intimidation from miscreants could inform the police through Dial 100 or WhatsApp 9440900005.
Focus on lodges
The special drive will also focus on lodges, guest houses and apartments operating gambling and brothels. Concentration will also be there on railway stations, bus stations and traffic islands.
