Chandrababu Naidu urges corporates, NGOs to adopt cyclone-hit village

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday requested the industries, corporate houses, NGOs and the public to adopt a badly-damaged village and provide it all the facilities, as part of the cyclone Hudhud relief and rehabilitation programme.

He made this appeal here after receiving donations from various organisations. He later left for Rambilli in Visakhapatnam district and Ranasthalam in Srikakulam district.

The Visakhapatnam Steel Plant’s CMD P. Madhusudhan and other senior officials presented a cheque for Rs. 5 crore to the CM’s Relief Fund.

Venkaiah to adopt Chapaluppada

Union Minister Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu’s family members and friends decided to adopt Chapaluppada on the Vizag-Bheemli beach road while Mr. Naidu’s grandchildren donated Rs. 5,000 towards cyclone relief from the money they saved in their kiddy bank accounts.

The Chief Minister who was slightly indisposed, reached here from Hyderabad on Wednesday evening to participate in a candle light rally on the beach road, held with the slogan: ‘Toofanlanu Jayiddam’ (Let’s conquer the cyclone) along with Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, State Ministers and others. Thousands attended the rally.

At the public meeting and later at a review meeting, Mr. Naidu appreciated the efforts put in by the officials and employees in the relief work.
