The Central and the State governments should start NCC in every educational institution by allocating budgetary grants, NCC officer M. Vivekananda Reddy said on Sunday.

Youth should join the NCC and imbibe qualities like discipline, brotherhood, patriotism and accountability, he said in the NCC Day valedictory function in Pushpagiri Residential School in Kadapa. He advised the youth to shed “escapist and irresponsible attitude’’ as they would lead to severe repercussions.

Mr. Vivekananda Reddy, who is director of the school, presented mementos and certificates to Pavan Kumar, Srinivasulu Reddy and Veerasai, who were adjudged best NCC cadets in 2013-14. School principal Harikrishna, coordinator Anuradha and students participated.
