March 16, 2015 01:18 pm | Updated October 05, 2016 11:02 am IST - GUNTUR:

Unidentified persons broke into the office of Narsaraopet Grameena Cable Vision office on Navodaya Nagar and ransacked cable equipment and furniture at midnight on Sunday. Police suspect that the incident could have been a fallout of rivalry between the two cable operators in the town.

Station House Officer, Narsaraopet One Town, Veeraiah said that a complaint was registered on Monday morning. The Grameena cable vision alleged that their rival A.K. Cable backed by a TDP MLA and the son of another senior leader was behind the attack.

The two operators have been engaged in a fight to reclaim cable connections. Cable Vision accused A.K. Cable of trying to poach into their region and cut their cable connections.

Police said that a group of unidentified men barged into the office around mid night. They broke open the doors and ransacked the cable equipment, including the studio room. The loss of property could be around Rs.5 lakh, the police said.
