The condition of the Volvo bus accident victim at Mahabubnagar, Yogesh, who received 45 to 50 per cent severe burn injuries in the horrific incident, continues to remain critical. The remaining four victims, who had received burn injuries ranging from 10 to 22 per cent, are stable and recovering, doctors of Apollo Hospital DRDO, Kanchanbagh, said.
The hospital doctors said that Yogesh is able to breath on his own, is maintaining the oxygen levels properly and his vitals were being monitored round-the-clock. Yogesh had received respiratory burns, after inhaling a lot of heat and smoke that caused complications in his airway, which has a potential to damage respiratory system. “Yogesh is suffering from 45 to 50 per cent thermal burns with respiratory burns. His prognosis, however, remains guarded,” hospital administrator, Dr. Samiullah said. The other four patients including Ayyaz Pasha with 10 per cent burns, Srikar with 22 per cent burns, Rajesh with 15 per cent burns and Mazhar Pasha who has 22 per cent burns are stable.
