Budget session: A.P. police to assist TS counterparts

The Andhra Pradesh police would assist their counterparts in Telangana in providing security during the budget session of the AP Assembly beginning from Saturday.

While police inside the Assembly would be from AP, security outside the House would be provided by Telangana police. But, AP police teams would be deployed at different gates to assist the Telangana police to ensure smooth and safe entry and exit facility to elected representatives.

Ten DSPs, 10 Inspectors, 20 SIs and 70 constables of AP police would help the local police at different points leading to the Assembly. A committee comprising senior police officers of both the States would be formed to monitor movement of VVIPs and look into issues relating to their entry and exit. While Telangana Chief Minister, Speaker and Ministers take Gate I to enter the Assembly premises, those from A.P. will take Gate II. And MLAs of both the States will take Gate III.
