Launching an unbridled attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government and the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday observed that the Telugu people should be cautious about their joint conspiracy against the TDP government and to scuttle the development of the State.
Addressing a public meeting at Turakalapatnam village of Roddam mandal in Anantapur district, the Chief Minister alleged that the nexus between the BJP and YSRCP was clearly exposed during the recent Karnataka assembly elections, when the latter openly campaigned for the former.
Reiterating that the TDP had disassociated with the NDA government as the State was given a raw deal for the fifth year, Mr. Naidu said his life is dedicated to the people of A.P. and to the relentless struggle for their development. “It will take at least 10 years for the State to stand on a par with other States in development. Why should innocent people suffer due to the faults of rulers? The Centre should answer my question,” Mr Naidu said.
The TDP chief said former Joint Director (CBI) Lakshminarayana is a ‘direct witness’ to the unprecedented corruption of the YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy. “Lakshminarayna is now coming to do public service. If you (people) have any doubts on this, he will clear them,” Mr Naidu said.
He said that the people of Anantapur district should never forget the looting of Gali Janardhan Reddy in Obulapuram mines.
Naidu said that the YSRCP leaders were spreading ‘rumours’ of various kinds in the State to create panic among public, such as presence of thieves in the Godavari districts. “The TDP government has been ruthlessly dealing with the elements of rowdism, factionism, communal riots and terrorism from time to time,” the Chief Minister said.
‘No anomalies in TTD’
Naidu also ruled out irregularities or corruption in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) administration, as was alleged by retired chief priest of Tirumala temple Ramana Deekshitulu. “Some forces are trying to malign the image of the TTD and Lord Venkateswara. It is the TDP which has been safeguarding the TTD from vested interests,” he said.
The Chief Minster said that he was throwing a challenge to his critics to prove any corruption against him.
In a veiled attack against Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan, Mr. Naidu said that some people were coming and floating political parties without any political experience. “Those who praised us are now taking U-turn and are reluctant to question the injustice of the Centre,” he said.
