Be punctual to duties, doctors told

July 17, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 05:56 am IST - VIZIANAGARAM:

Rural Development Minister Kimidi Mrunalini made a surprise visit to Maharajah’s District Government Hospital on Saturday, and to her dismay five of the 30 doctors only were present at that time. The Minister, seemingly unhappy with the poor attendance, went through biometric system and attendance register of the doctors but made no move to take action.

Later, at a meeting, she asked them to be punctual. At the same time, she said their dedication had improved attendance in outpatient ward. She also interacted with in-patients and expressed satisfaction with the treatment.

Following a complaint by the patients, she directed the hospital superintendent Sitarama Raju to speed up clinical tests.
