“Andhra Pradesh has created a brand for itself in the world. Your talent and my marketing ability is the reason behind it and we should reach more heights in future,” Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said addressing a gathering of students.

He was speaking at the valedictory of the Mega Job Mela Week here on Saturday. “I shall bring all the companies and technologies to the State,” he assured students and said, “And you, as a product, should be knowledgeable and talented enough to bag the opportunities.”

In all, 7,729 students enrolled for the job mela week held in five colleges of the city and attended 10,651 interviews. As many as 1,032 candidates were short-listed by the companies.

Mr. Naidu said the IT Ministry was committed to getting one lakh jobs opportunities in the IT sector and two lakh job opportunities in the Electronics sector.

Disagreeing with a statement made by IT Minister Nara Lokesh earlier, the Chief Minister said that youth of AP should spread all over the country instead of confining themselves to the State.

He said soon a hackathon event on the development of Amaravati would be conducted in the city and best of ideas will be given shape and implemented in the State government.

Mr. Naidu said that the government was gearing up to achieve 15% growth in GDP in the future.

Mr. Lokesh said that in the last three years 194 IT companies were established in the State and over 12,000 jobs were provided. “There is not even a company in Vizag and Vijayawada earlier and it is the brand image of Mr. Naidu that is attracting IT firms,” Mr. Lokesh said. “Even I get appointments of bigger companies just with the brand image of the CM,” he said.

The government also signed a MoU with augmented reality firm Unity 3D to provide job and training opportunities to students of the State.

IT adviser JA Chowdary, Principal Secretary Vijayanand and others were present.
