Hindupur MLA N. Balakrishna should ponder over why he was canvassing on behalf of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, who had “betrayed” former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao, YSRCP MLA R.K. Roja said on Wednesday.

Addressing a road show at Peddakottala in the Nandyal constituency, Ms. Roja accused Mr. Balakrishna of lacking political knowledge, but merely repeating the script given by the Chief Minister.

Mr. Balakrishna should question why 21 MLAs who had defected to the TDP were not asked to resign before referring to the Silpa brothers as defectors, Ms. Roja asserted.

Former Allagadda MLA Sobha Nagi Reddy fought against Mr. Naidu till her death. But her daughter and Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya joined hands with Mr. Naidu, she alleged.

Asserting that the Nandyal byelection was between Mr. Jagan’s credibility and Mr. Naidu’s false promises, she urged the people to elect YSRCP candidate Silpa Mohan Reddy.

Kurnool MP Butta Renuka accompanied her.
