AU offers rare courses in distance mode

Students who may not be able to pursue courses of their special interests like music, vastu, astrology etc, due to their preoccupation with conventional courses offered by regular universities have a chance here to fulfil their wishes.

“To help such students pursue their passion, the School of Distant Education, Andhra University is introducing M.A. in Music in Telugu from this year,” says its Director L.D. Sudhakar Babu.

Addressing media persons at C.S.R. Sarma College here, Mr. Babu said: “we are also offering introductory programmes in Vastu, Jyothisham and Avadhanam in Telugu”.

Those interested could download the applications from www.andhrauniversity.edu.in and apply before this month-end, he added.

In all, 45 programmes, including courses on Office Automation and Multimedia Technologies, Environment Studies, Functional English, Travel and Tourism Management, Translation, Digital Governance were being offered to students who are keen in learning at their own pace, he said. College Principal M. Srinivasa Rao said the management offered to provide all academic support to AU for contact programmes for students.
