At Iftar, CM vows to protect Wakf properties

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Wednesday an action plan would be chalked out to protect Wakf properties.

Mr. Naidu participated in an Iftar hosted by the State government at Nandyal and greeted Muslims and their religious elders. He laid foundation stones for works worth ₹ 1,124.39 crore including ₹ 890.37 crore for building 13,000 houses, ₹137.34 crore for Nandyal water supply improvement scheme, ₹33.47 crore for sewerage and septage management.

Mr. Naidu said Haj houses would be constructed at Amaravati, Kadapa and Kurnool. The government would perform the marriage of 80,000 poor Muslims under the Dulhan scheme.

Referring to the ensuing byelection to the Nandyal Assembly constituency, Mr. Naidu said the convention was to elect a family member of a public representative dying in harness unopposed. The TDP had sent a request to the YSR Congress but got no response so far. He urged the Muslim minorities to bless the TDP candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy.
