Arrest of Left leaders condemned

Leaders of the CPI(M) and other Left parties condemned the arrest of party State secretary P. Madhu, State secretariat member V. Krishnaiah and other activists, while they were proceeding to Gottipadu in Guntur district on Tuesday.

The government, instead of taking action against those who ostracised and insulted Dalits in the village in Guntur district, illegally arrested the party leaders heading to Gottipadu to find out the facts, Left leaders said to mediapersons in a statement here on Tuesday.

CPI (M) Delta Committee secretary of West Godavari district B. Balaram alleged that attacks on Dalits were increased during TDP’s rule.
